I'm not sure I would call this the best of the series, because I loved the story and the characters. Because I read (heard) them one-two-three, it all kind of meshed together.

I had a difficult time figuring out what would happen next. These books are anything but predictable! I loved that; Patrick Ness is a genius when it comes to surprising me with a plot twist. I have to say, at the end, I found myself crying and saying "please,please,please." He delivered. I'd love for it to have completely resolved, but I am happy with his ending. Although I generally hate it when an author will leave things to my imagination, I will accept it in this case simply because I love Viola and Todd so very much.

I listened to this book on audio, and I have to say that Nick Podehl is equally the genius that Patrick Ness is. Podehl make Todd live; gave him a voice that had me hanging on every word.

I think this is my favorite series I've read this year. Do yourself a favor. Get to know Todd and Viola and fall in love with them.
