Loved, loved, loved this book. It was a great conclusion to the series. It had the perfect balance of action to romance. The bad guys were absolutely horrible. It amazes me that Ryan turned this entire series into an in-depth exploration of the characters rather than a zombie story.
I especially liked the way Annah's character was so introspective. Her discovery of herself was not just interesting - it really reflects so many people today. Issues of abandonment, selfishness, self-loathing; these are all things teenagers deal with, and the series is directed toward young adults.
Well done, Carrie Ryan. Thank you for such a great series.
